What is the best cooler insulation? What materials are used to make a cooler? Extruded Insulation Extruded Polystyrene insulation is one of the two main insulation materials used in the manufacturing process for walk-in coolers and freezers.


Extruded polystyrene insulation is a closed-cell insulation structure with resistance to moisture absorption. The insulation material provides the walk-in with resistance to heat flow , which allows the walk-in to be refrigerated and hold cold temperatures. The metal surface wipes clean and actually acts as a water barrier for soft coolers, diaper bags, and bottle carriers. It is washable, but doing this may dull the reflective side.
