International residential building code

What is IRC Section 168? Code for residential buildings that creates minimum regulations for one- and two-family dwellings of three stories or less. It brings together all building , plumbing, mechanical, fuel gas, energy and electrical provisions for one- and two-family residences.

This document provides the foundation for many state and city codes. There are two model building codes which form the basis of almost all of the building codes in the United States. This comprehensive code comprises all building , plumbing, mechanical, fuel gas and electrical requirements for one and two-family dwellings, and townhouses up to three stories.
